Advisory Firm
Foundation Point Partners was founded on a straightforward premise: founders and business owners deserve the same quality of advisory that has historically been reserved for large corporations. We are an independent investment bank headquartered in Irvine, California, serving clients nationally. Our practice focuses on middle-market M&A and capital raise advisory, with deep expertise across technology and technology-enabled businesses.
Every engagement is led directly by a senior banker not staffed to associates. We run disciplined, well-prepared processes and bring the full weight of our relationships and experience to bear on your behalf.

We advise founders, families, and boards on strategic transactions: sell-side, buy-side, and mergers. Our process is designed to surface the right counterparties, run competitive tension where it matters, and protect what you've built. We have closed transactions with Google, eBay, Zynga, SolarWinds, Paychex, Wix, and other leading global strategics.

Capital Raise Advisory
For companies raising institutional capital, we provide end-to-end advisory from positioning and materials through investor outreach, term negotiation, and close. We have advised on growth equity, venture, and private capital raises across software, AI infrastructure, and technology-enabled services.

Strategic Advisory
For founders and operators navigating complex decisions that don't fit neatly into a transaction process (board-level strategic reviews, dual-path planning, founder liquidity, or pre-process positioning), we provide objective, senior-level counsel.

Frequently
asked questions
Answers to common questions about our advisory process and how we work with clients.
Ask a questionWe work primarily with founder-led and privately held technology and technology-enabled businesses. Our clients range from growth-stage companies preparing for their first institutional capital raise to established businesses exploring M&A or strategic alternatives. We focus on the middle market, typically advising companies with $10M to $500M in enterprise value.
At a larger bank, your engagement may be staffed primarily by junior analysts and associates, with senior bankers appearing only for key meetings. At FPP, every engagement is led directly by a senior professional from first call to final close. You get deeper attention, faster response times, and a genuine partnership with someone who knows your business inside and out.
We typically work on a retainer-plus-success-fee structure, with the majority of our compensation tied directly to a successful outcome. This structure aligns our incentives with yours while ensuring we are properly resourced to run a senior-led, institutional-quality process. We are transparent about our fee structure from the first conversation.
Timelines vary depending on the type and complexity of the engagement. A sell-side M&A process typically takes four to eight months from engagement to close. Capital raises can move faster, often three to six months. Strategic advisory engagements are scoped on a case-by-case basis. We set clear expectations on timeline from the outset.
Yes. While we are headquartered in Irvine, California, we advise clients nationally. Our relationships and coverage extend across the United States, and we regularly work with buyers, investors, and counterparties based in all major markets.
